An introductory lecture in free soft skills training

On November 23rd, 2023, Ambitio College started implementing free soft skills training, which is carried out as part of the Erasmus+ project “Skill me 4 Job!”, financed from the Erasmus+ program of the European Union. In this project, Ambitio College is the project coordinator, and Stichting Exe-Leren from the Netherlands is a partner. Associate partner is Essential Skills Program from USA.

The beginning of the training was marked by the introductory lecture of the soft skills trainer, Ana Boban Lipić, teacher of psychology, which was intended for the first group of participants participating in the training through the Canvas platform, which contains the Essential Skills Program (ESP), and through the Moodle platform, which contains digital workbooks.

At the very beginning of the lecture, director Alen Stranjik greeted the participants, and project coordinator Željka Ciler explained the timeline of conducting the training. Ana then introduced the participants to the subject of soft skills with her lecture and emphasized their importance for personal and professional development.

Soft skills training includes the 10 most wanted soft skills on the labour market, which are presented through text, video and audio content and numerous tasks on two e-learning platforms.

In today’s digital era, increasingly complex environments are developing in which, not only hard skills based on concrete experience, acquired qualifications and experience are needed but also soft skills such as effective communication in a team, reliability, adaptability, and resistance to change, the ability to recognize emotions  and acting in accordance with the situation, the ability of moral reasoning, etc. are also needed.

This is precisely why we believe that this training was created at the right time and will enable the acquisition of knowledge and skills in the most wanted soft skills that employers are looking for on the labour market.

We believe that learning content in the field of soft skills will help participants recognize situations in their own lives that they should have reacted to in a certain way, get to know and reevaluate themselves, and think about the application of new ways of thinking and approaches. The educational content has an added value as it will also strengthen digital and green skills as well as improve knowledge of the English language.

The training for that group of participants will last until the end of February 2024.
