Aim of the project:
To develop new Specialist Graduate Professional Study in Optometry on English.
Purpose of the project:
The University of Applied Sciences Velika Gorica (VASVG) as a beneficiary and Ambitio College as a partner will develop new Specialist Graduate Professional Study in Optometry on English.
VASVG will contribute to the internationalization of Croatian higher education and stimulate an increase in students’ incoming mobility by developing a new curriculum that will be fully implemented in English.
First target group – teachers will be trained on teaching methods focused on learning outcomes that will put students into the center of the education process, the preparation of e-learning lesson scenarios and two-month English language course, thereby updating their own existing teaching competencies in order to improve human resources and strengthen the institutional capacity of VASVG.
Second target group – students of professional study in eye optics will be included in the evaluation process of e-learning system in English. This will strengthen their competence in the field of digital and language literacy and will stimulate them to make more effective use of modern and innovative learning methods based on IT technology. It will also help them overcome fear of enrollment and class attendance in English. This will increase their competences in the area of mobility, which is also the long-term impact of the project on this target group.
Expected project results:
- Implementation of methodological training on defining learning outcomes and preparation of e-learning lesson scenarios and two-month English language course for 15 teachers
- Curriculum development for a new Specialist Graduate Professional Study in Optometry on English
- Development of e-Learning platform with digital teaching contents of a new study
- Implementation of 8 attendances at fairs of higher education for the purpose of promoting a new study program
