WHERE THE IDEA FOR THE PROJECT CAME FROM?

Ambitio College has successfully applied on ESF (European Social Fond) tender “Improving the accessibility of vulnerable groups on the labour market in the hospitality and tourism sector” and will together with partners develop and implement three new and unique education programs in the field of tourism and hospitality.

Ambitio College, which has significant experience in developing innovative adult education programs as well as in managing the EU projects, has recognized a need for the development of new adult education programs that will enable specific knowledge and skills highly needed today in the hospitality and tourism sector. Partners on the project were selected on the basis their core business and their status as local leaders in their area of expertise. Furthermore, their current experiences and successful business results provide a significant credibility to the project consortium and guarantee for successful implementation of the project.

Aim of the project:

Aim of the project is to increase the employability of 50 unemployed persons from vulnerable groups of people under the age of 25 and over 54 by acquiring the expert knowledge, general competences and soft skills through innovative, market-justified and learning based outcomes training programs, guided and mentored by professionally educated and highly qualified experts from hospitality tourism sector.

 

Purpose of the project:

Purpose of this project is to contribute to the employment growth and poverty reduction through activities that help vulnerable groups of people under the age of 25 and over 54 to improve their skills and integrate more easily into the labour market.

The project provides a direct response to the social needs of vulnerable groups through the development and implementation of innovative training programs for greater employability. Educational contents will be defined in cooperation with employers. Moreover, they will be linked to the needs of labour market and tailored-made to the needs of vulnerable groups. Thus, will strengthen the sector with quality staff and make vulnerable groups more competitive and easier to employ.

First target group – members of vulnerable groups of 25 and over 54 will be included into the adapted training programs for tourist hosts. Apart from expert competencies, vulnerable groups will also gain some general skills, such as communication, professionalism, hospitality and multiculturalism. Thus, will increase their competitiveness in the labour market and during the practical part of training program they will be linked to employers.

Second target group – teachers and mentors will be involved into tailored-made skill improvement training on professional and pedagogical skills. This way, they will gain additional competences for teaching vulnerable groups and increase personal capacities in innovative approach to teaching.

Expected project results:

  1. To develop and implement skill improvement training for teachers and mentors on professional and pedagogical skills for 8 experts
  2. To develop and implement training program for shipboard host for 10 participants
  3. To develop and implement training program for host of accommodation capacities for 25 participants
  4. To develop and implement training program for host of family tourist farm for 15 participants
  5. To develop e-learning systems for all three new programs

Project implementation period: 24 months, from 10th April 2018 to 9th April 2020
